Thanks Isaac, now for the travel updates. On the roads a heavy delay is occurring on the A14 after a lorry collided with a car, delays could last an hour, also a serious incident on the M11 has caused motorists to take a diversion off the road after a car caught flames. Keep up to date on all our social media platforms.
FA Cup Final News Script (44 secs)
Manchester United will take on Chelsea in the 2018 Emirates FA Cup Final. The event will kick-off on Saturday 19th May 2018 at Wembley Stadium, at 17:15 BST, in London. This year’s final is the second successive final for Chelsea following their defeat by Arsenal in 2017. The winner will qualify for the group stage of the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League.
Seven-time winners Chelsea, who lost 2-1 to Arsenal in last year’s final, beat Southampton 2-0 in Sunday’s semi-final. Manchester United, who have won the trophy 12 times, reached a record-equalling 20th final by coming from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 on Saturday. Referee Michael Oliver will take charge of the big occasion at the national stadium. It will be the 33-year-old’s fourth major final at Wembley, after handling the 2009 League One Play-Off final, the 2015 Community Shield and the 2016 League Cup Final.
Cambridge United Last Fixture News Script (35 secs)
After a 2-0 victory against Stevenage, Cambridge United faced another league match against Cheltenham and grabbed themselves another victory pushing them up in the league table which is a great achievement for the team. 4-3 win against the opposition boosted the player confidence and made the mood around them livelier and gave the team as a whole a better morale for the game. Cambridge United boys had a larger possession throughout the game and kept the ball moving which stopped the other team from scoring, because of the team being so on point they gained loads of confidence from both each other and the fans vouching for them. The atmosphere was amazing with around 4,000 supporters which gave the players motivation to end up winning the game.
Cambridge United Next Fixture News Script (25 secs)
Joe Dunne’s side next face Morecambe on Tuesday 24th April 2018 which is going to be a smashing game to watch. The fixture for this League Two game will be held at Morecambe Globe Arena where Cambridge United will be facing the team away. Going into the game, both teams will have played 43 games, with the U’s sitting in 12th spot in the league, and Morecambe in 22nd. The U’s gained 3 points at the Abbey last game, however Morecambe didn’t pick up any points in a 1-0 loss away to 17th place Crewe at the weekend the U’s are possibly more likely to win due to their points and team based skills.
Cambridge United Summary News Script (35 secs)
The 2017-18 season is Cambridge United’s 106th season in their history, their 39th in the Football League, and their fourth consecutive season in League Two which is an amazing achievement for the team as the team is constantly improving their tactics and their squad. Along with League Two, the club will also participate in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. The current managers are Joe Dunne and Mark Bonner and the team are twelfth in the league and have played 43 games with 60 points. Uche Ikpeazu is the current top goal scorer for the U’s and has scored 14 goals with 4 assists, 50% of his shots out of 96 are on target.
Jesus Green 10K News Script (30 secs)
The Cambridge 10K will take place on the 8th July at 11:00am. This particular event is part of the race for life Cancer Research and the money earned from the event will go to Cancer Research UK. The race will take place on Jesus Green, in Cambridge and pass through the city centre, market square, and King’s College and end at Jesus Green. One of the better ways to raise money for the event is to get together as a group and race together! If you get involved in this challenge you will not only be helping other people, but joining the fight to stop cancer. Jogging 10k takes around an hour, but Race for Life is non-competitive, so you can take as
long as you like.

If we don’t have the right amount of staff, we will record or complete the task on a different day or give it to another staff member. If we don’t have enough staff for the final shoot then we would have to wait another day to complete the radio broadcast. If the presenter is unable to appear on the show we would have to cut his part out or come up with a new script for someone else to take his place.

Proposed schedule plan

|
Social Media
|
Our radio station will have its own account on Facebook and Twitter at which an audience can watch or listen to some of the shows they may have missed, also any games that you have to enter online will be displayed with a link on twitter and facebook to get more of an audience.
|
Music
|
The music that is playing will be top of the chart music that consists of mainly Pop music by artists such as: Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Jess Glynne and Calvin Harris. This type of music is played on the vast majority of UK Radio stations which is why it would be a great idea to include it into our radio station.
|
Game content
|
The show will consist of a variety of fun and quirky games which the listeners can take part in. These can range from solving a riddle, to guessing the footballer, which can reward you with a cash prize if you text your answer to the station. These particular games will help the listeners think whilst they are on their morning commute to work or school. If the listeners missed their opportunity to answer the question, they can go onto the station Facebook page and answer the game questions in their own time before the date expires for the challenge.
|
News
|
The news that will be broadcasted on our show would be about celebrity football players, managers and teams within Cambridge and league 2. We will also be talking about local news which will inform listeners of traffic information and any news that has occurred around Cambridge, in some cases Social Media such as Facebook may be spoken about to inform listeners that they can listen to any broadcasts they may have missed.

Budget & Revenue
|
Radio presenter gains £10 an hour and DJ for the station would be on £26.25 an hour.
Equipment such as microphones and DJ sets will be owned by the station in which the company will not have to pay anything towards it
Purchasing a copy of the sheet music for a copyrighted work does not give the purchaser the right to perform the music. A separate performance license must be paid for. Someone who listens to a piece of music and learns to play it must obtain a performance license before performing it in public in a commercial setting. A new arrangement for a copyrighted work is a derivative work.
Permission of the rights holder is required before the work may be published, copied, or performed in public. (There now may be two copyrights, one on the original work and a second copyright on the "new" material contributed by the arranger.) An arrangement of a traditional song or piece of music will be protected by copyright even if the original piece is in the public domain. Every new arrangement receives a copyright. There are some exceptions to the requirement for a performance license. One set of exceptions come under the fair use doctrine. There’re no specific prices for the cost of the rights because it depends on how popular the song is, in our case which is chart music the rights to a song would cost around £400.
Broadcasting, in the set of music licensing, means the playback of recorded or live music for groups of people beyond what might be normally expected in a social setting. Legal claims are filed frequently against bookstores, bars, and live music venues that broadcast music without first obtaining a performance license.
Some well known sportsman/woman that appear on shows get paid around £1000 just to appear on the show but some smaller names such as managers will only get paid around £100 to appear on the show.
Radio stations pay fees to licensing bodies for non exclusive rights to broadcast music. Radio stations and businesses typically pay a flat rate once a year, called a blanket license, which can vary based on the size of the audience, value of the advertising revenues, and amount and nature of music usage. As part of the license contract a radio station may conduct periodic audits of the music being played, with the audit results submitted to the licensing body.

Distinction Task:
Mode of Address: The mode of address for our radio show is rather formal and within the show we play quite a few pop songs which are currently top of the charts. Not only do teens listen but a whole range of people listen to these songs, ranging from young adults to middle aged, perhaps even some children. Our presenter starts the show with a very uplifting tone and comes across slightly informal but as the show progresses his tone slowly becomes formal when discussing serious events such as the FA Cup final or the news. The news presenter is again extremely formal when discussing disastrous events such as a collision on the A14 and that tone is kept throughout when discussing the latest sports news.
